lunchlight curating(1) Chicken salad lunch with couscous and avocado (2) Light play  (3) And shadow. I started reading Hans Ulrich Obrist’s Ways of Curating today and so far, I am really enjoying his insightful and pleasantly easy to read essays.

“…It’s important to shape exhibitions as projects of long duration and to consider issues of sustainability and legacy. Fly-in, fly-out curating nearly always produces superficial results; it’s a practice that goes hand in hand with the fashion for applying the word ‘curating’ to everything that involves simply making a choice. Making art is not the matter of a moment, and nor is making an exhibition; curating follows art.” (24)

“The very idea of an exhibition is that we live in a world with each other, in which it is possible to make arrangements, associations, connections and worldless gestures, and, through this mise en scene, to speak.” (32)
